Heavy Haul Movements are Complete!

Golden Triangle Polymers is pleased to announce the successful completion of all heavy haul movements for our new facility in Orange County, Texas. This marks a significant milestone in development and brings an end to the associated road closures.

Completion of Heavy Hauls

The heavy haul operations, which involved transporting large equipment and materials, have been completed. From late 2023 to June 2025, we successfully delivered 224 modules and 116 major equipment packages on approximately 200 barge transfers brought in at the Marine Offloading Facility on Cow Bayou.  The designated routes, including the 2.5-mile stretch along HWY 87, are now fully open to regular traffic.

Moving Massive Pieces Through Southeast Texas

Each individual cargo required a distinct Self-Propelled-Modular-Transporter (SPMT), and when possible, the SMPTs traveled in convoy to lessen traffic disruption. During transports, detours were provided to motorists. Flaggers were on the ground, helping each movement pass through safely.

Some massive pieces include:

  • Loop Reactor
  • C2 Splitter
  • Extruder Module
  • Purge Columns
  • Mega Module Pipe Rack
  • Boilers

Each heavy haul was done in cooperation with the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) with appropriate permitting.

Looking Ahead

Thanks to the cooperation of the citizens of Southeast Texas, these movements were done safely and efficiently and brings us closer to finishing our world class facility. With the heavy haul movements now complete, we can focus on the next phases of our development. The modules and equipment have been installed at the site and form an integral part of the plant. The community can look forward to the benefits this facility will bring, including job creation and economic growth.
